The team earned its first play-off birth under Coach Hendricks by beating Eastern on November 2nd.

The dragon’s football team defeated Eastern with a score of 34-21 on Friday October 26th , holding a 5-3 record. The dragons fought hard throughout the entire game to ensure their spot in the playoffs next Friday.

Head coach of the team, Coach Hendricks, stated,  “I’ve been telling the kids all year to be able to ‘ground and pound’ and we were able to do just that on friday night to the tune of 395 yards, rushing a seasons high.”

Every game Coach Hendricks tells the players that phrase “ground and pound”, and the players made that happen. Key  players like Semaj Bosket, AJ Butler, and Alex Odom ran plays and scored touchdowns to win the game. Semaj ran a 58 yard touchdown towards the end of the fourth quarter making it his highlight of the game.

Alex Odom stated, “We had to do what we had to do”. The players knew they had to play their hardest against Eastern, and that is what they did.

Butler said, “I felt as if we played great Friday night and did what we had to do to win the game. We have great momentum going into playoffs.”
