You might not know that Kingsway is full of amazing artists. Many of these artists use their craft to express deeper emotions; some even find it easier to create than to communicate. Unfortunately, the lengthy time artists put into their work is often overlooked or neglected. However, the artists at Kingsway continue to make outstanding pieces of art even when nobody knows it.
One of the significant artists here at Kingsway is Raegan Begey. For Raegan art serves as an outlet of self-expression and a way for them to get their thoughts out of their head. Pursuing art has given them a greater appreciation for life and an ability to see the world in a new way. Their perception of the world is different, and it shows in the work they put out. Despite being an experienced artist Raegan still runs into struggles and hardships in their craft, but the motivation they get from their peers pushes them to find solutions. While the work is pleasing to the eye their art is filled with intention and depth. “Wide Awake” (Orange) and “As Above So Below” are perfect examples of this, both of these invoke deep and relatable emotions. Emotions that can be interpreted as overwhelmed, isolated, or depressed. Raegan hasn’t yet decided where they aspire to take their art, but whatever they choose to do it is clear that they will go far.
Artists are often taken advantage of, but what people should be taking advantage of is the chance to give artists recognition and respect for all of the hard work they do. Raegan Begey is an amazing artist who delivers beautiful art and powerful messages, you’d be doing yourself a disservice not to pay attention.
