Hickey Makes A Splash

Once again, Colin Hickey brings the heat and breaks his previous personal best diving records for the fourth time this season. This includes a 20-year old dive record at the Gloucester County diving championships and the overall school record for Boys’ Diving. On January 24, 2019, he competed at the Tri County Conference Showcase at GCIT and qualified for states. Hickey, a sophomore, completed 11 successful dives, finishing with a final score of 436.6. This is yet another record-breaking performance by Colin, following a series of successful meets throughout the season. Commenting on his experience with the dive team, Hickey says, “The team is really tight. There are only four people, so even if you join the team, you will still get a chance to perform. The pressure is surprisingly really encouraging, and it’s a fun experience. The practice is the best part and is the most fun. More people should join the dive team!”. He advances to the state diving meet on February 26 and 27, 2019.
