Nomadland is a beautiful film in nearly every aspect. To begin, the writing was great and was well deserving of the nomination for Best Screenplay. This film highlighted the challenges and beauties of being someone who is houseless beautifully. It established some great characters and character interaction between all the “nomads”. The writing also established some great messages such as don’t take everything for granted; live with what you have; there is always beauty in the world, big or small. The cinematography in this film was beautiful, to say the least. The colors were vibrant when they needed to be vibrant, or they were dull when they needed to be dull to help the mood. The sky in this film, which was in nearly every shot, looked better than it does in real life. Frances McDormand did a great job acting. She portrayed her emotions very well and did a great job in showing the life of a nomad. She was well deserving of the nomination for the award of Best Actress in a Leading Role- Drama. All of these aspects put together make Chole Zhao a great director and NOmadland a great movie, deserving the award for Best Picture- Drama and Best Director.

Nomadland is a great watch, and though it is not the most interesting movie, it is a beautiful film in nearly all aspects. It did a great job highlighting both the struggles and beauties of being a houseless person, people consider a “nomad”.
