Homecoming Royalty

Macfarland joins sisters as homecoming queen; Dukes earns 2023 crown

Friday, October 13, homecoming royalty candidates, the football team, band and color guard, dance team members, cheerleaders, students, and Kingsway families gathered at the football stadium for the 2023 pink-out homecoming game against Cherokee. Congratulations to Homecoming King and Queen Dillon Dukes and Rylie MacFarland, as well as homecoming court Kathryn Burkhardt, Ava Forte, Maddie Hicks, Ava Spicer, Mary Wordelmann, Ben Dryden, Ian Farls, Sean Kirwin, Benny Liles, and Tommy Popoff. 

Rylie MacFarland who joined her sisters in being selected queen her senior year said, ” I was very grateful to be crowned and to have many encouraging people in my life, supporting me no matter the outcome. I am very appreciative to even be selected for the court and for the constant support from amazing friends and family. My sisters, Brianna and Allison were crowned as well in past years at Kingsway and are very deserving of the position. I always look up to my talented older sisters for inspiration and guidance, so I am filled with gratitude to be the third MacFarland to gain this experience and follow in their footsteps. “

Dillon Dukes, Kingsway’s 2023 homecoming king, stated, “I didn’t really expect too much of anything, but I was grateful my classmates voted for me.” 

Homecoming Court candidate and October Senior of the Month Maddie Hicks talked about her accomplishments and the others on the court.  She said, “I am beyond honored to have these accomplishments under my name! This court is full of amazing girls, and are all great candidates and deserving of winning!”
