As the numbers on the date strike up one number and the people finish counting down from ten, the new year begins. 2023 has concluded, and 2024 has just begun. A new year is associated with new beginnings, endless possibilities, and a trendy idea— new year’s resolutions. Here are some resolutions that have been collected from the students at Kingsway:
Within school, most goals have to do with grades. Most students want all A’s or at least A’s and B’s. There were also several responses pertaining to AP classes, such as scores on the tests and grades in the class overall.
For sports, the answers had slightly more variation. In 2024, Kingsway students want to become healthier and grow in their sports. A particular student wanted to hit a quadruple pirouette, while another student wanted to increase their pitching speed. Several mentioned making new teams or becoming starters on their previous ones.
Not everyone plays a sport, so resolutions that did not fit into a category also filled the answer choices. Many want to learn a new instrument or become more skilled with the one they already have. Also, learning new languages was a popular goal for the new year. A multitude of responses included improving relationships. That could include making new friends or spending more time with friends and family.
As 2024 begins, opportunities arise. Kingsway has the opportunity to work harder. There are more chances for success and even more chances for failure. Make every moment count and live this year and all the years to come to the fullest.
