This article is part of a series called Discovering Clubs at Kingsway. Our initiative focuses on interviewing all the clubs offered at Kingsway High School in order to better inform students about clubs they may be curious about. We hope by doing this, we can give people an idea of what a club is like, while helping students discover new, interesting clubs along the way!

1) What’s your club about? What would you say it focuses on specifically?

“This club is about financial literacy, the mental aspect of business, and tips on entrepreneurship. As well as an overview of the stock market and how it functions.”

2) How long have you been in this club? How would you describe your overall experience with it?

“I’ve been in this club for two years now. It’s been really good overall as I have been able to take the knowledge I’ve learned to give to other members. Also put myself on a platform to show what I’ve learned and how I’m able to use it.”

3) What is your favorite activity you’ve had the opportunity to experience through this club?

“Guest speakers for sure, it’s an opportunity for not only members to learn but for me to learn as well”

4) What is your favorite thing about this club?

“It gives free range to present your ideas regardless of the class officer hierarchy, members are more than welcome to present their ideas.”

5) What type of activities can students look forward to?

“Fundraisers, the opportunity to present slideshows themselves, and put themselves on a platform to teach themselves. Our group is not just about teaching them it’s also about learning from each other.”

6) If there was one thing you could say to people who are unsure about joining – what would it be?

“This may sound corny but just do it, you’ll always benefit from being financially literate. It also gives you an advantage over your peers because you have a certain knowledge that they potentially don’t have so you’re able to pass it on as well.”

You can join this club through the Schoology code: HCFP-S2W8-SVKPM or reach out to Dylan Lewis, Anya Patel, or Ms. Delaney on their school emails if you have any questions!
