Students volunteered to collect food during their study hall.

Nov. 3  The Kingsway community came together with the East Greenwich Police Department to collect donations for  Americans still suffering from the devastation of Hurricane Maria to Puerto Rico.  Spanish teacher Diana Crespo and math teacher Alexandra Bossi led the effort at school. For several weeks people have been encouraged to fill up boxes with supplies. Today, Crespo and Bossi with the assistance of study hall students who volunteered collected all the supplies. They will be taken to the district office from here and loaded on a truck. The police department with then assists with getting the items to the National Guard who in turn will transport them to Puerto Rico.  Crespo, who has parents on the island will not be taking the supplies herself but does plan to visit the island over the fall break.  Crespo is only one of many community members who have family on the island.
